The three houses, room by room
The menu prices shown are the walk-in prices and serve as a reference. Group pricing is handled case by case.

Two houses two minutes apart. That is 260 seats in Bairro Alto.
Café Luso and Adega Machado are one lane apart. For a large group that is not a party split for lack of room — it is a programme on two stages, in the same neighbourhood, on the same night.
- Congresses and incentives, where the numbers of 200 and 300 appear.
- Weddings with more guests than one house can hold.
- A wine tasting in one house, dinner with fado in the other, on foot.
- Two rooms at once, for groups that split by language.
How we work
- Groups from ten people. Above that the booking is handled by the commercial department.
- Separate tables, by choice. Long banquet tables are not how these houses serve. At Café Luso larger tables are possible.
- A coach stops five minutes' walk away, at most. In Alfama and Bairro Alto that is not a detail.
- Step-free access in all three houses. Adega Machado is the best adapted of the three.
- The evening, and when it ends. Doors at 19:30 or 20:00, fado at 20:30, the house open until 01:00. A group with a coach waiting can be free by around 22:00.
- A kitchen for everyone. Vegetarian menus, vegan menus, and an answer to any allergy.
- A room that speaks your language. We serve in most of the widely spoken foreign languages.
- Book early. Cancellation terms are agreed case by case, with the group being booked.
Any service, in any house
Fado by day or by night, in a short format or with a meal, with a wine tasting, in a shared or private room. Every combination is available in all three houses.
Private events
Weddings, company dinners, launches, filming and photo shoots. Rooms can be taken privately, one at a time or the whole house.
Material for your programme
Photographs, logos and texts of the houses may be used in programmes and sales material, with prior approval. Just ask us.
Talk to us
Write to the commercial department with the house, the date, the number of people and the language of the group. We typically answer the same day or the next.
